Frequently Asked Questions

  • What machines do you accept for cleaning?

Poppy's team of certified technicians can clean any make and model of machine.

  • What machines do you accept for repairs?

Poppy's is a certified repair shop for PFAFF, BERNINA/bernette, and Baby Lock sewing machines. Although our technicians can clean any sewing machine (which may be enough to resolve minor issues), we can only source parts for the brands mentioned above.

  • Does my machine need a cleaning or a repair?

If your sewing machine hasn't been professionally cleaned within a year, our team will recommend a cleaning service. A cleaning can also resolve minor performance issues with your machine. If further work is needed, a technician will contact you before proceeding.

  • Do I need an appointment to have my machine serviced?

Appointments are not required for cleaning or repairs; we accept walk-ins any time during our business hours. A staff member will help assess your needs and walk you through the intake process.

  • What do I need to bring?

We require a zig-zag needle plate and foot so that our technicians can test out your machine with different stitches. A power cord is only needed if your machine is not one of our certified brands (i.e. PFAFF, BERNINA, or Baby Lock). A foot control is only required for sergers/overlockers.

  • How do I prepare my machine for service?

Our technicians ask that you remove any additional items on or with the machine. This includes detachable external lights, magnets, removable decor, accessory trays, and dust covers.

  • What is your service turnaround time?

Poppy's is currently quoting a 3-4 week turnaround time, but please note that our lead time is subject to change. Repairs that need approval or parts may take longer to complete, but our technicians will do their best to keep you informed.

  • Can I get in-home service?

Our certified technicians provide in-home services for longarm quilting machines. Poppy's will charge an additional trip fee based on travel distance - but locations outside of the Georgetown area may not be accepted. For more specific information, please contact us.
